For Sale:  Jeff Gordon's 1999 “Pepsi” Busch Race Car  - Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS.

(from the Pepsi “Joy of Cola” ad campaign)

The car was a Gordon-Evernham Motorsports (GEM) team car for Jeff Gordon and Rick Hendrick’s son Ricky.  The team ran a limited 6 race schedule with Pepsi sponsorship for Jeff and 2 races with DuPont sponsorship for Ricky with Jeff winning the Outback Steakhouse 200 in Phoenix that year.  Ray Evernham sold his interest in the team to Rick Hendrick in 2000.  Jeff ran 5 events under the JG Motorsports banner that year winning his last race, the Hot Wheels 300, in Homestead and then elected to retire from Busch Grand National competition.  The Pepsi sponsorship moved to his Winston Cup car for select events thereafter.

The short lifespan of Jeff’s Busch team made it difficult to track down the exact race history of the cars but this particular car was driven by Jeff in the popular Pepsi television commercial with Halle Eisenberg where she drives by Jeff on her bicycle.  The commercial was shot at California Speedway in Fontana, Ca. and the car was put on display at the speedway that year during the races held there.  This is a complete running, driving race car in with Chevy V-8 and T-10 transmission.  The car has very good paint and is very clean throughout.  The decals for what would normally be Nascar contingency sponsors are actually “tongue & cheek” versions of those decals since Pepsi wasn’t going to give those companies free advertising!  The car comes with video’s of the commercial and documentation of Jeff’s usage from Pepsi Entertainment Sales.

This car presents a unique opportunity to own a piece of Jeff’s history and is offered at $39,000.

We can also quote reconfiguring it for your application such as converting to Road Course specifications, outfitting it with a fuel injected Chevy motor for a low maintenance track day car or putting a 770hp SB2 motor in it for maximum performance.
